Picnic at Hatley Castle

The traditional “picnic” will be off-site but only a short bus ride away. Buses will begin to leave the centre at 17:45 pm with arrival estimated at 18:00. The site is at Royal Roads University’s Hatley Castle. You will arrive at the Castle for a relaxed event including a casual meal, allowing mingling indoors. The grazing menu contains locally sourced and creative choices including seafood, cheeses, artisanal selections and options for those with dietary restrictions. This is a non-alcoholic event but the refreshing drink choices include beverage stations and when you have finished you have access to the main floor of the Castle and can wander the gardens, waterfowl refuge and University grounds to enjoy spectacular views of the ocean south to the Olympic Peninsula and adjoining first growth forested trails. At 20:30 buses will begin leaving to return to the conference centre and your accommodation.
